Adjoin Catalysts in San Diego, CA seeks a Community Support Specialist to deliver direct services, implementing individualized training and coordinating community resources for clients with intellectual and developmental disabilities. You will support post‑secondary education, pre‑employment, volunteering, and social activities to help individuals develop essential life skills.

Qualifications

• 18 years of age or older.
• One year of experience in a Social Service setting.
• Ability to follow instructions and manage multiple tasks.
• Certification in First Aid and CPR or ability to complete within 45 days of hire.
• Insured, registered vehicle and valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Implement individual training and support programs in post-secondary education, pre-employment, volunteering, and social/recreation services.
• Develop, secure and coordinate community resources to develop client skills.
• Provide social/behavioral activities in the community to support participant behavior.
• Maintain professional communications with supervisor, clients, families and others.
• Participate in client evaluation through task analysis and other assessments.
• Provide logs, reports and evaluations in a timely, accurate manner.
• Assist in ensuring safety of clients and staff during activities.
• Transport clients to appointments and community activities as needed.
• Perform all duties of a direct service provider as assigned.
