Job summary

The New York City Department of Youth and Community Development is seeking a Community Coordinator to advance equity and youth-focused initiatives in New York City. The role collaborates with Community Based Organizations serving at-risk youth and works across agency units to implement strategies and track progress.

The ideal candidate has strong data skills, public outreach abilities, and leadership to build consensus among diverse stakeholders. Residency within NYC is commonly required.

Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree and two years of experience in community work or related activities, or a high school diploma with six years of relevant experience.
• At least one year of experience as described above is required.
• Experience coordinating across units or agencies is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with staff across the agency to meet equity goals and implement strategies.
• Gather and track data on milestones, deliverables, and performance indicators.
• Analyze, visualize, and interpret community data (demographic data).
• Prepare and submit progress reports on agency commitments.
• Participate on committees and serve as a liaison to internal and external stakeholders.
• Contribute to public outreach and engagement to understand community perspectives.
• Support development and preparation of equity plans.
• Develop recommendations on policies and procedures.
