Job summary

The Bollinger County Health Center seeks a Program Coordinator for the Building Communities for Better Health initiative to coordinate community-based chronic disease prevention with local partners.

The role focuses on engaging residents, supporting a multi-sector coalition, and advancing health through policy, systems, and environmental approaches, with occasional travel and evening/weekend hours.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in public health, health education, health promotion, or a closely related field.
• Ability to engage community members and collaborate with partners.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate prevention efforts related to tobacco/vaping, physical activity, healthy eating and other health risks.
• Manage BCBH grant planning, implementation, reporting and documentation.
• Support a multi-sector community coalition and engage residents through outreach and listening sessions.
• Collaborate with community partners on policy, systems and environmental initiatives.
• Provide health education and represent the health department at community events and meetings.
• Occasional overnight travel and evening/weekend work required.
