Qualifications

• Bachelor or Doctor of Dental Surgery/Medicine with licensure to practice dentistry.
• Minimum of five years clinical experience preferred.
• Knowledge of community health principles and practices preferred.
• Administrative, management and budget development experience preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills required.
• Ability to maintain appropriate clinical privileges required.
• Knowledge of primary dental care in outpatient settings.
• Knowledge of modern dentistry as related to public health and community programs.
• Ability to collaborate with other health professionals to improve program effectiveness.

Responsibilities

• Educate patients on dental disease and preventative home care.
• Counsel patients and families in a culturally sensitive manner.
• Supervise and direct dental clinic staff for productive operation.
• Provide continuing education and staff orientation support.
• Lead department meetings and address clinical or administrative concerns.
• Demonstrate reliability with attendance and schedule adherence.
• Represent the clinic in the community and at the state level to improve access to care.
• Perform clinical duties including diagnosis, treatment planning, prophylaxis, limited restorations, extractions and minor surgery.
