Job summary

City of Phoenix is seeking a Program Manager for the Office of Accountability and Transparency (OAT) to oversee community engagement activities and programs. The role includes coordinating outreach efforts, supervising staff, and delivering presentations to external stakeholders in alignment with regulatory requirements.

The ideal candidate will have strong written and verbal communication skills, supervisory experience, and a background in public administration or related fields.

Qualifications

• Five years of professional experience in program and project management, preferably within a government, public sector, or non-profit environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in public administration, business administration, project management, social services, legal services, communications, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
• All finalists are subject to a criminal background check and some positions require use of City vehicles and a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and coordinate OAT’s community engagement activities and programs, ensuring alignment with goals and regulatory requirements.
• Supervise professional staff who implement youth outreach and community engagement programs.
• Conduct in-person presentations and develop materials for external stakeholders.
• Communicate with stakeholders professionally and respectfully, including handling delicate emotional matters.
• Analyze program performance and monitoring expenditures for cost-saving opportunities.
• Develop strategic communications plans and campaigns and manage the department and City brand.
