Job summary

Coconino County is seeking a dedicated Community Engagement professional to promote County programs and services, manage volunteer Councils, and coordinate events that engage diverse populations. The role emphasizes strategic communication, partnerships with outside agencies, and leveraging digital engagement to broaden public access.

The ideal candidate champions community relations, can manage budgets, and collaborates with officials, nonprofits, and businesses to advance county initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, Communications or related field and one year of professional work experience in marketing, public relations, communications, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must obtain an Arizona driver’s license by date of hire and maintain it throughout employment.
• Ability to work outside normal business hours for events, meetings, training, or emergencies/on-call assignments.

Responsibilities

• Develops and executes strategic community engagement efforts to increase understanding and awareness of County programs and services.
• Leads and manages volunteer Councils and community partnerships.
• Plans, organizes and executes County participation in events and displays materials to inform and engage the public.
• Oversees budget for community relations and special events activities.
