Job summary

Unitus-Family-Services in Virginia is seeking Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to empower adults with developmental disabilities across Residential, In-Home, and Community Engagement programs. This role offers meaningful daily impact, leadership opportunities, and a pathway to advance within the agency.

You will mentor individuals, coordinate community activities, support independence, ensure safety, and transport clients to appointments while fostering a positive, respectful environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid Virginia driver's license with driving record check.
• Ability to pass required background checks.
• Strong communication skills and professionalism.
• Willingness to complete required training with guidance provided.
• Flexible schedules and day shifts available.

Responsibilities

• Mentor and coach individuals with developmental disabilities in real-life situations.
• Coordinate community outings, fitness, recreation, and daily activities.
• Support independence in community and residential settings.
• Help individuals develop discipline, structure, and social skills.
• Transport individuals safely to appointments and activities.
• Maintain a safe and positive environment.
