Job summary

Access Services seeks a Community Participation Supports Lead Direct Support Professional to assist adults with intellectual disabilities in building meaningful lives in their communities. The role blends hands-on care with leadership, training, and program compliance across homes and community sites.

You will support Plan of Care and Person-Centered Support Plan implementation, coach DSPs, and collaborate with families and partners to ensure high-quality services.

Qualifications

• Requires High School diploma or GED; Bachelor’s degree preferred in psychology, education, special education, counseling, social work or gerontology.
• Two years of direct care experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities required.
• Ability to travel regularly to community sites and maintain reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Supervisor with onboarding, training, and client coverage needs.
• Promote current trends within Human Services in alignment with Access Services’ philosophies.
• Ensure compliance with local, county, and state regulatory agencies.
• Coach and support DSPs on performance alongside the Supervisor.
• Foster a positive, team-oriented culture to achieve agency goals.
• Identify risks in daily operations and develop proactive responses.
• Communicate effectively with Supervisors and staff to improve channels.
• Present a professional image to families, funding sources, and the community.
• Provide direct support in homes and community settings with dependable scheduling.
• Implement Plan of Care and Person-Centered Support Plan to meet individual needs.
• Support individuals in achieving goals and personal care as needed.
• Collaborate with the Supervisor on staff development and cross-team relationships.
• Maintain relationships with partner agencies to ensure quality delivery of services.
