Job summary

Unitus Family Services is hiring Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to assist adults with developmental disabilities across Residential, In-Home, and Community Engagement Programs in Virginia. You’ll mentor, coordinate activities, and support independence in various settings, including transportation to appointments and events.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Valid Virginia driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
• Ability to pass required background checks.
• Strong communication skills and professionalism.
• Willingness to complete required training.
• Experience is a plus, but we will train the right candidate.

Responsibilities

• Mentor and coach individuals with developmental disabilities in real-life situations
• Coordinate community outings, fitness, recreation, and daily activities
• Support independence in community and residential settings
• Help individuals develop discipline, structure, and social skills
• Transport individuals safely to appointments and activities
• Maintain a safe and positive environment
• Respond calmly to challenging situations
• Be a role model through your actions, communication, and leadership
