Job summary

Fifth Third Bank seeks an experienced Community Development Lending Director I to originate LIHTC affordable housing loans and related CD credits across the bank’s footprint. This role emphasizes relationship management, deal structuring and execution of large complex transactions.

You will drive CD lending growth, monitor portfolios, and collaborate with Credit Solutions, CRE, and other partners to deliver value-added financial solutions for developers and sponsors while supporting CRA

Qualifications

Undergraduate degree required; graduate degree preferred.
5+ years of experience in Banking, Finance or related field.
2+ years of Community Development Real Estate Lending experience and sales management preferred.
Strong understanding of LIHTC and NMTC programs.
Formal commercial credit training or equivalent credit experience.
Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain important client relationships.
Produce and maintain profitable CD loan volume with cross-sell focus.
Qualify prospects and lead development of new business opportunities.
Underwrite credit requests and approve loans within lending limits or advise on higher approvals.
Coordinate client-facing activities with Credit Solutions and other partners.
Attend industry events to broaden the relationship network.
