Job summary

Osceola County is seeking a Corrections professional to assess and supervise pretrial or probation defendants, providing timely information to the Courts and ensuring community safety. Strong communication, judgment, and confidential handling of information are essential.

Responsibilities include conducting intake, risk assessments, documenting progress, and coordinating with courts and service agencies. A degree in criminal justice or related field and experience in probation are required.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree in Criminal Justice, Criminology, Psychology, Social Work, Sociology, Public Administration or closely related field from an accredited college or university
• One (1) year of experience in probation, pretrial release, community corrections, counseling, evidence based programs, case management, social work, and/or corrections. An equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience may be considered.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional case management and supervision to pretrial or probation defendants, ensuring protection and security to the community.
• Completes risk/needs assessments on all defendants for caseload assignment and to evaluate and identify defendants’ needs.
• Administers risk assessments to evaluate risk of reoffending and flight and to assign supervision level.
