Job summary

Buehler YMCA is seeking a Community Concierge to deliver exceptional member experiences at the YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago. You will welcome guests, respond to inquiries, process transactions and help members discover programs that fit their interests.

Qualities include strong communication, flexibility with hours, and a customer-first mindset; English/Spanish bilinguals are highly preferred. This on-site role offers growth opportunities and a robust benefits package.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to work flexible hours, weekends, and/or holidays.
• Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Bilingual English/Spanish highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet community members and guests and make them feel welcome and engaged.
• Answer phones and email inquiries.
• Process customer transactions.
• Support facility operations with Community Hub leadership to keep spaces clean.
• Anticipate needs to provide exceptional customer experience.
• Maintain inventory and order supplies as needed.
• Ensure front desk operations run smoothly.
• Conduct hub tours and promote memberships.

Community Concierge team members serve as the face of the Y and support a best-in-class experience for our customers. You will actively interact and engage with community members, provide solutions and offerings, and support them in discovering opportunities at the YMCA.

Pay is $17.05 per hour and opportunities to grow within the organization

Scope and Responsibilities

• Greet community members and guests and make them feel welcome and engaged
• Answer phones and email inquiries
• Actively manage customer transactions
• Support facility operations by partnering with local Community Hub leadership to ensure community spaces are clean at all times
• Anticipate individual's needs in order to accommodate them and provide an exceptional customer experience
• Maintain inventory of supplies and order new stock, as needed
• Ensure front desk operations run smoothly and efficiently
• Conduct hub tours responsive to the needs of prospective customers; sell memberships

Requirements

• At least 18 years of age
• Earned high school diploma or GED
• Ability to work flexible hours, weekends, and/or holidays, as needed
• Top-notch verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
• Bilingual, English/Spanish highly preferred

Child Abuse Prevention

• Reporting any items that may provide a health or safety hazard to staff, members or guests to your supervisor
• Following all policies and procedures related to keeping children safe in our facilities and programs, including those related to the monitoring and supervision of children
• Reporting any suspicious behavior and violation of policy and procedures to your supervisor
• Completing all child abuse prevention training as required
