Job summary

Kindly Direct Care in Budd Lake, NJ is seeking a warm, reliable Direct Support Professional to provide one-to-one support to a nonverbal 22-year-old woman with autism in Morris County. You will help with communication, meals, routines, and safety, while encouraging her to explore activities and build independence in home and community settings.

Kindly Direct Care is hiring a caring, dependable Direct Support Professional to provide one-to-one support to an adult with developmental disabilities in Morris County.

About This Opportunity

We’re looking for a fun, patient, and engaging DSP to support a 22-year-old young woman with autism who is nonverbal. She communicates by pointing, using her keyboard, and other nonverbal methods, and she enjoys spending time on her screen. The ideal DSP will have a fun, older-sister/mentor vibe and encourage her to explore new activities, build independence, and enjoy outings to Target, the mall, the beach, parks, and more! Responsibilities include supporting her with communication, meals, drinks, and bathroom routines as needed, while gently redirecting her toward positive, engaging activities. She has a seizure disorder managed with medication and allergies, so attentiveness and following her care guidelines are essential. We’re looking for someone caring, proactive, and creative who can build a meaningful connection with her while helping her have fun and grow in independence!

What You’ll Do

• DSP, mentoring, education, recreation, human services, or caregiving experience is helpful but may not be required for this assignment.
