Job summary

AbilityFirst is seeking a part-time Community Coach I (Per Diem) in Pasadena, CA. You will support participants with developmental disabilities, implement PCP-guided activities, and document progress while maintaining safety and dignity.

The role involves lifting/personal care tasks, driving as needed, and a schedule of Monday–Friday with possible weekends. A driving record and background check are required for driver positions.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent experience preferred.
• 12 ECE units may be required for childcare programs.
• 1–2 years experience with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred.
• Ability to provide physical assistance including lifting or transferring.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Actively supervise participants and ensure health, safety, and engagement.
• Work within designated staffing ratio throughout program day.
• Implement daily activities aligned with PCP goals.
• Create and facilitate inclusive group activities.
• Document daily participant goal progress and report concerns promptly.
