Job summary

AbilityFirst in Los Angeles, CA is hiring a Community Coach I to support participants with developmental disabilities through structured programming and person-centered plans. The role involves hands-on support, safety, documentation, and collaboration with the team to enable community participation.

The position is part-time (30 hrs/wk), non-exempt, with a schedule Monday–Friday 12:00 PM–6:00 PM and some weekends. A valid driver’s license is preferred, with driving responsibilities as needed.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Bachelor’s Degree in related field or equivalent experience preferred.
• 12 ECE college units may be required for childcare programs.
• 1–2 years experience with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred.
• Must be able to provide physical assistance including lifting or transferring participants.

Responsibilities

• Actively supervise participants and ensure health, safety, and engagement.
• Implement daily activities reflecting PCP goals.
• Complete accurate daily documentation of progress.
• Drive agency vehicles or accompany participants on public transportation as needed with AF driver approval.
