Job summary

Brooklyn Community Services is seeking an Assistant Director - Cornerstone Programs in Brooklyn, NY. The role supports the Site Director, supervises staff and participants, and oversees daily center operations to align with our program philosophy.

The candidate will coordinate schedules, implement activities, and supervise staff to deliver high-quality recreational and educational experiences for youth and families in the community center.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• Must be timely, dependable and youth driven.
• Excellent leadership, communication and supervisory skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervises Group Leaders, Activity Specialists and custodial staff with regular feedback.
• Develops staff schedules and enforces center rules and activities.
• Assists with hiring, training, scheduling and evaluating center staff.
• Schedules facilities and manages setup/breakdown of equipment and resources.
• Manages crises including mental health issues as they arise.
• Facilitates mediations and conflict resolutions between participants and parents.
• Plans trips, celebrations and leadership activities for the program.
• Develops one-on-one relationships with participants, parents and partners.
