Job summary

Brooklyn Community Services (inc) seeks an Assistant Director for Cornerstone Farragut to supervise staff and day-to-day operations of the Cornerstone NYCHA Community Center.

Working with the Site Director, you will coordinate schedules, ensure high-quality recreation and educational activities, and manage facilities. Evening and weekend hours are required. The organization was founded to empower communities and serves thousands annually.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• Excellent leadership, communication, supervisory and team-building skills.
• Ability to motivate staff and ensure service delivery per goals and contracts.

Responsibilities

• Supervises staff including Group Leaders and Activity Specialists.
• Develops staff schedules and enforces rules; evaluates activities.
• Assists with hiring, training, scheduling and evaluating center staff.
• Schedules community center facilities and manages setup/breakdown of equipment and resources.
• Manages crises as needed including mental health issues.
• Facilitates mediations and conflict resolutions between participants and parents.
• Plans trips, celebrations and leadership activities.
• Develops one-on-one relationships with participants, parents and partners.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
