Job summary

CAMBA in Brooklyn, NY is seeking an Assistant Director to oversee Cornerstone Center operations across after-school, evening, weekend, and holiday programming for youth and adults.

The role serves as second-in-command to the Program Director; ensures safety, engagement, and contract compliance, while leading staffing, enrollment, and community outreach. A bachelor’s degree is preferred, with strong communication and bilingual abilities a plus.

Qualifications

• Three years’ experience in a youth program of comparable size.
• Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in Outlook, Word, and Excel; MS Office literacy.
• Experience supervising part-time or seasonal staff.
• Bilingual English and Spanish or another language common to the community.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day Cornerstone Center operations and programming.
• Serve as second-in-command to the Program Director and stand in when needed.
• Ensure programs run safely, on schedule, and compliant with contracts.
• Lead recruitment, outreach, and enrollment across all age groups.
• Coordinate schedules, space usage, and facility operations.
• Direct front desk and visitor procedures; manage site safety.
• Coordinate partnerships with co-located organizations and vendors.
• Prepare for DYCD site visits, audits, and contract reviews.
• Supervise and coach staff; conduct regular performance discussions.
