Job summary

The Salvation Army is seeking a Community Caseworker in Michigan to provide intake interviews, assess client needs, and connect families to appropriate services. You will help determine eligibility and coordinate support with Salvation Army and community resources.

Responsibilities include managing the Food Pantry program, reviewing client budgets, and documenting all encounters in the Client Management System. Collaboration with Pathway of Hope teams is expected.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field.
• Valid MI Driver's License with clearance to drive; must obtain Certification within one year of hire.
• 2 years experience in a social services agency or social work field.
• Equivalent education/experience acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Schedule, interview, and evaluate the needs of individuals and families for services and referrals.
• Determine eligibility and provide requested services in a timely manner.
• Review household income and expenses and assist in budget planning.
• Identify additional needs (emotional/spiritual) and connect with resources.
• Oversee and coordinate the Food Pantry program and food distribution.
• Document all client meetings and enter information into the Client Management System.
• Participate in Pathway of Hope and community meetings; build professional relationships.
