Job summary

The Salvation Army is seeking a Part-Time Case Worker in Cadillac, Michigan, to provide emergency transactional services to low-income applicants. You will meet with applicants, assess needs, determine eligibility for resources, and coordinate services with community agencies while maintaining accurate case records.

Qualification includes a Bachelor's degree in a related field and at least 1 year of interview experience.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent in social work, psychology, sociology, or related field.
1+ years of applicant interview experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Meets with applicants; assists with application processes; assesses needs for food, utilities, housing, shelter, emotional support, spiritual care, or other needs.
Determines eligibility for resources; develops plans to address the presenting problem and provide support for peripheral issues.
Provides information on resources; educates applicants using a financial toolkit; coaches on energy reduction where applicable.
Maintains relationships with community agencies; coordinates services and communicates about cases with valid releases on file.
Uses electronic database to enter, retrieve, and maintain accurate case records per protocols.
Manages client service transactions; monitors fund balances; requests funding as appropriate.
Fulfills ad hoc and periodic survey requests; provides information for reports to administration.
Performs other duties as assigned
