Job summary

Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) is seeking a Community Care Worker III in Harlingen, TX. The role focuses on enrollment and support for Medicaid waiver programs (MDCP, HCBS) under the STAR Kids and STAR+PLUS initiatives.

Telework eligibility and travel up to 10% are noted, with daytime shifts and regular full-time status. Responsibilities include assisting applicants with eligibility and enrollment, coordinating with MCOs and ME PD, and handling fair hearing processes.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Prefer experience with case management.
• Experience with complex policy interpretation and good judgement.

Responsibilities

• Attend work regularly and comply with agency leave policy.
• Develop and explain waiver programs to applicants and members. Authorize or deny waiver services and notify approvals/denials.
• Validate eligibility in TIERS/SASO/LTCOP and enroll waiver programs.
• Coordinate with MEPD staff for enrollment in Medicaid and for member transitions.
• Assist denied waiver members to file a fair hearing and track the process.
• Handle reports and monitor program operations for accuracy.
