Job summary

RHA Health Services, LLC is seeking a Direct Support Professional for Waiver services. You will support individuals with disabilities in the community, help identify needs, and implement plans to achieve personal goals.

You’ll work as part of a care team in home and community settings, acting as advocate, teacher, and coach to promote independence and well-being. The role emphasizes compassionate support, scheduling flexibility, and driving duties where required; a valid driver’s license is

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED (Preferred)
• At least 18 years of age
• Valid driver’s license

Responsibilities

• Promote healthy living and prevent illness and accidents.
• Increase awareness of self-advocacy and support individual choice and decision-making.
• Accompany people to work, the movies, concerts, shopping, and other community outings.
• Teach independent living skills.
• Provide transportation to appointments.
• Foster positive relationships within the community.
• Promote decision-making about living, work, and social relationships.
• Assist with personal care and bathing, help around the home (laundry, cleaning, and decorating)
• Document the care you provide.
• Provide education on human, legal, and civil rights.
• Understand diverse challenges of those living with disabilities and use effective advocacy strategies.
• Connect people with resources to further explore opportunities in their career, education, volunteerism, etc.
