Job summary

RHA Health Services, LLC is hiring a Direct Support Professional to provide community-based support to individuals with disabilities and mental health or substance use challenges. You will help people communicate needs, participate in goals, and access services as outlined in each Centered Plan.

The role involves transportation, independent living skills coaching, and advocacy, with emphasis on person-centered outcomes and confidentiality. Training and benefits accompany this opportunity.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must pass pre-employment screening.

Responsibilities

• Provide education on human, legal, and civil rights.
• Promote healthy living and prevent illness.
• Increase awareness of self-advocacy and support independent choice and decision-making.
• Accompany people to work, the movies, concerts, shopping, and other community outings.
• Teach independent living skills.
• Provide transportation to appointments.
• Foster positive relationships within the community.
• Promote decision-making about living, work, and social relationships.
• Assist with personal care and household tasks.
• Document the care you provide.
• Connect people with resources to explore opportunities.
• Promote effective communication.
• Assist in medication administration where state law allows.
