Job summary

Catholic Community Services in Tacoma seeks a Clinical Access Specialist to serve children, youth and families in homes, community settings, and at the Northend Tacoma office. You determine eligibility and facilitate access to intensive behavioral health services using clinical assessments and Medicaid verification.

The role offers weekly supervision, extensive training, and scheduling flexibility to meet family needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, behavioral sciences or equivalent field.
• 2+ years of clinical experience working with children and families.
• Clinical knowledge of DSM diagnostic criteria.
• Demonstrated clinical engagement skills including Motivational Interviewing or Collaborative Problem Solving.
• Eligibility for Agency Affiliated License within one month of employment.
• Proficiency in Excel and Word; knowledge of Behavioral Health EHR systems.
• Certification in CANS-Child/Adolescent Needs/Strengths Assessment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as first clinical contact for referrals, assess service need and intensity.
• Complete behavioral health assessments including CANS; verify Medicaid eligibility.
• Engage families during referral, coordinate with clinical managers and funders.
• Track referrals, utilization and data in the Electronic Health Record.
• Provide referrals and support to connect families to services in home/community settings.
