Job summary

National Youth Advocate Program in Dayton, OH seeks a qualified clinician to provide counseling, advocacy, and community-based mental health services for youth and families. The role supports living safely and successfully within the community and works closely with foster parents, families of origin, and community partners.

The position requires a Master’s in Social Work or related field, a valid license, and at least two years of direct-service experience with youth.

Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Social Work or comparable Human Services field.
  • 2 years of work experience in direct service with youth and families.
  • A valid professional license as required by state or contract regulations.
  • Willingness to work flexible and non-traditional hours.
  • Ability to work with diverse cultures, backgrounds, and communities.
  • Proficient use of computers and standard office software.

Responsibilities

  • Actively supports, represents, and extends the organization's mission, vision, and values.
  • Provides appropriate individual, group, and family mental health services, case management, transportation, and other professional services, meeting or exceeding established outcomes thresholds for persons served.
  • Travels daily to provide community-based services to, and on behalf of, youth and families in compliance with organizational, contract, and regulatory requirements.
  • Completes all required documentation in a timely manner.
  • Completes all required training in a timely manner.
  • Consistently achieves established productivity thresholds.
  • Coordinates and monitors services for youth and families in the community across mental health, medical, educational, psychological, vocational, and social services.
  • Regularly reviews and modifies youth-based plans to assure progress toward goals.
  • Establishes and maintains strong relationships with assigned foster parents and families of origin.
  • Assists in family reunification and/or stabilization efforts consistent with the youth's plan.
  • Provides safety assessment, crisis response, and behavioral stabilization services as required.
  • Participates in Continuous Quality Improvement activities on a monthly/quarterly basis.
  • Participates in weekly supervision processes.
  • Performs other duties as requested.
