Job summary

Primary Talent Partners, LLC seeks a Communications - Writer - Technical (Entry Level) in Pensacola, FL for a 2-month contract. The role requires producing installation and user guides, using MadCap Flare, and delivering in HTML5, CHM, and PDF formats. W2 contract with no PTO or benefits; ACA enrollment options available.

You will collaborate with engineers, developers, product managers, and support staff to create accurate, user-friendly documentation for life sciences instruments and software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in technical writing, English, or related field.
• At least 5 years of technical writing experience for hardware/software.
• Proficient with MadCap Flare or similar single-source tool.
• HTML/CSS experience is a plus.
• Experience with Adobe CS, SolidWorks, Jira, and FrameMaker is a plus.
• Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills; detail-oriented.
• Comfortable collaborating with SMEs and stakeholders.

Primary Talent Partners has a new contract opening for a Communications - Writer - Technical (Entry Level) with a multinational science and technology company in Pensacola, FL. This is a 2-month contract with a potential for extension.

Pay: $35.00 - $40.00/hr; W2 contract, no PTO, no Benefits. ACA-compliant supplemental package available for enrollment. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States and must be able to sit on Primary Talent Partners W2 without sponsorship.

Description

Our innovative analytical solutions for cell and protein biology enable our customers to see more, do more, and know more, and to answer life's most important questions. We are looking for an experienced Technical Writer who is proficient in the MadCap Flare authoring tool and who can be available on an as-needed, part-time basis. The writer will collaborate with the writing team, software developers, engineers, product managers, testers, and technical support staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Write and update content to support installation, usage, and maintenance of our life sciences laboratory instruments and software.
• Create single-source content using the MadCap Flare authoring tool to produce deliverables in various print and online formats, including HTML5, CHM, and PDF.
• Adhere to file version control policies to ensure appropriate back-up and archival of drafts in progress and published documentation as well as associated edits and approvals.
• Proactively gather documentation requirements from project teams and stakeholders.
• Attend Team Meetings and Standups to represent documentation, report progress, and gather information. Seek and incorporate feedback on drafts.
• Attend product training sessions as needed.
• Manage and prioritize work for assigned writing projects to ensure on-time delivery of documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Technical Writing, English, Communications, or a related discipline (or a combination of a Bachelor's degree in science and writing experience).
• At least 5 years of experience as a technical writer creating content for hardware and software products, preferably in the life sciences industry.
• Proficient in MadCap Flare or similar single-source authoring tool.
• Experience with HTML and CSS is a plus.
• Experience with the following tools is a plus: Adobe Creative Suite (including InDesign, Illustrator, PhotoShop), SolidWorks, Bitbucket/SourceTree, Jira, FrameMaker.
• Excellent writing, editing, and communications skills; strong attention to detail. Solid interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Comfortable interacting with a wide variety of subject matter experts and stakeholder
