About The Position

The Communications Specialist will support client teams in providing high-quality, customized professional consulting services. This is a full-time, remote/virtual position that requires occasional travel or on-site client work. This position typically does have a regular or a standard work schedule; however, work hours could occasionally vary depending on the nature and timing of the client project assigned by People Results.

The Communications Specialist will report to the Managing Director and assist in services including, but not limited to, internal and employee communications, digital and social communications, public and governmental affairs, crisis management, and industry and competitive research. The consultant will support the development and execution of communications strategies and must be willing to produce high-quality work quickly and independently.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Support the delivery of a broad range of services to People Results clients. The following descriptions of services provided are examples of the work the individual may be asked to perform, but additional types of assignments may also be required.

  • Support client teams in developing and executing internal/external communications strategy.
  • Write, edit, and proofread materials including press releases, pitch letters, fact sheets and client correspondence.
  • Support client teams on fast-breaking situations, assess communications needs, and develop communications plans under deadline.
  • Partner with and effectively convey client needs to design team members to develop creative visual content aligned with communications goals.
  • Research, compile, and analyze client traditional and social media coverage and analytics.
  • Provide client service administration support; attend meetings, handle scheduling, logistics, and provide billing support.
  • Support multiple client projects simultaneously, as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree. Degrees with a focus on communications or human resources management are a plus.
  • Demonstrate strong presentation skills and the ability to ideate on the spot and actively participate in group discussions.
  • 1+ years’ experience in internal or external communications preferred.
  • Willingness to challenge and be challenged when discussing client strategies.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to adapt to change and meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrate dedication to consistently provide high-quality work.
  • Ability to write for various audiences, channels, and media (including print and digital) about topics that range in complexity.
  • Possess solid research, writing, and editing skills.
  • Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to juggle shifting requests and deadlines between clients and internal teams.
  • Experience working with designers and managing creative projects.
  • An eagerness to learn and jump in where needed which could include writing/content development, research, social media engagement, project management, campaign support, etc.
  • Experience in media relations desired but not required.

Computer Skills

  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, Excel and other standard computer programs.

Note: The ability to quickly learn and adopt new software and programs is required. Over time, the products listed above may be replaced or supplemented with other products.

  • Must maintain complete confidentiality on all client matters at all times.
  • Must be able to use independent judgment and be able to work cooperatively in a team environment, often in a virtual/remote format.
  • Must possess strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Must demonstrate a high degree of agility and adaptability to changing conditions and demands.
  • Must be organizationally savvy to maneuver successfully through complex dynamics across diverse channels of business.
  • Ability to relate effectively to people at all levels within an organization.
  • Ability to successfully manage multiple projects, including several client projects simultaneously.
  • Experience and comfort working in a virtual or remote environment, including limited interaction with co-workers beyond technological connection.

The position primarily works virtually from home, and during those times, the person must maintain a work environment that is free from any distractions, such as childcare responsibilities or other personal responsibilities, which could inhibit the person's ability to be entirely focused on work performed at home.

Compensation: The pay range for this position is $55,000-$105,000 depending on experience, etc. People Results takes into consideration a wide range of factors in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to skill sets, experience, training, qualifications, education and other business and organizational needs.

The job requirements, as outlined in this document, pertain to both People Results employed consultants and contractors who perform work on behalf of People Results.
