We are seeking a Strategic Communications & Outreach Specialist to support a high-impact Program Management Office (PMO) focused on homeland security infrastructure. This role is critical in ensuring that internal and external stakeholders are well-informed, aligned, and engaged with the PMO's mission and accomplishments. This position potentially offers a remote work option, depending on project needs and candidate qualifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive communications strategies and outreach plans.
- Coordinate the dissemination of accurate information to correct misperceptions and support internal and external messaging.
- Provide strategic communications support to senior leadership and their staff.
- Oversee and maintain content accuracy on the PMO SharePoint homepage (or its replacement).
- Identify and execute opportunities to highlight PMO programs and achievements.
- Ensure timely and consistent communication with CBP and PMO stakeholders.
- Support the development of policy recommendations related to public affairs and outreach.
- Assist in building political and fiscal support for PMO initiatives through effective messaging.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's Degree required.
- Experience: Minimum of eight (8) years of communication experience.
- Proven experience in strategic communications, public affairs, or stakeholder engagement.
- Strong writing, editing, and content management skills.
- Familiarity with SharePoint and similar content platforms.
- Ability to work collaboratively with senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
- Experience supporting federal government or homeland security programs is highly desirable.
Preferred Skills
- Background in public policy, communications, or government relations.
- Experience with intra-governmental coordination and outreach.
- Knowledge of CBP, USBP, or AMO missions and operations.
