Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required in a related field such as Supply Chain, Business, Engineering or Finance.
  • 4+ years of strategic sourcing experience including vendor negotiations, global contract management, process improvement and financial analysis.
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and coaching junior staff.
  • Procurement experience in machined parts, optics, harnessing, valves, motors, battery, hardware, or related technical commodities.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute sourcing strategies, negotiating agreements and statements of work.
  • Drive hardware delivery through the product life cycle, from requirements development to on-dock delivery.
  • Analyze industry trends and evolving technology to identify projects that reduce cost and mitigate supply chain risks.
  • Influence suppliers’ manufacturing processes, technology decisions and policies.
  • Lead cross-functional projects to meet commitments and objectives.
  • Drive financial modeling of large and complex deals.
  • Evaluate supplier performance including financial health, quality, on-time delivery and cost.
  • Ensure orders are released on schedule to meet production needs.
  • Lead cross-functional meetings with clear documentation, agendas and follow-up.
  • Travel domestically and internationally as needed.

Role Overview

Our organization is seeking a Commodity Manager to develop and execute sourcing strategies for key components. The successful candidate will drive hardware delivery through the product life cycle, from requirements development to on-time delivery, ensuring quality and cost-effectiveness. This role involves analyzing industry trends to reduce costs, mitigate supply chain risks, and maintain continuity of supply for the benefit of our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute sourcing strategies, negotiating agreements and statements of work.
  • Drive hardware delivery through the product life cycle, from requirements development to on-dock delivery.
  • Analyze industry trends and evolving technology to identify and execute projects that reduce cost and mitigate supply chain risks.
  • Influence suppliers’ manufacturing processes, technology decisions, and policies.
  • Manage cross-functional projects against plans and objectives to meet commitments and goals.
  • Drive financial modeling of large and complex deals.
  • Evaluate and monitor critical supplier performance, including financial health, quality, on-time delivery, and cost.
  • Ensure orders are released and on schedule to meet the needs of the production system.
  • Lead cross-functional meetings with clear document writing, agenda creation, and follow-up activity coordination.
  • Travel as needed (domestic & international).
Required Qualifications
Education

Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, Finance, or a related technical field.

Experience

4+ years of relevant strategic sourcing including vendor negotiations, global contract management, process improvement, and operational/financial analysis. Experience working effectively across cross-functional teams and partnering with people at all levels within an organization, including coaching of junior staff. Prior experience in supply chain procuring machined parts, optics, harnessing, valves, motors, battery, hardware, or equivalent technical commodities.

Technical Skills

Experience with data analysis tools such as Advanced Excel, SQL, Tableau, or Python. Experience using multiple ERP or other equivalent procurement tools.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, Finance, or a related technical field.
  • Experience with Continuous Improvement and Six Sigma methodologies.
