Job summary

Everforth Apex Systems is seeking a Software Development Engineer in McLean, Virginia, offering hybrid work (2 days/week). Build and operate high-availability software for the SDE platform, enabling Physical AI, Edge, and Trusted Environments.

You will work on CI/CD pipelines, AWS cloud services, and backend systems with a focus on performance, security, and robust monitoring. The role requires 5+ years of production-grade cloud development expertise, strong backend skills, and a U.S.

Qualifications

• 5+ years building production-grade full-stack apps in cloud environments.

• 3+ years distributed architectures using microservices/serverless in cloud.
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases and RESTful APIs.

Software Development Engineer

Location: McLean, Virginia (Hybrid-2 days a week minimum)

We are seeking a Software Development Engineer for our chief technology office engineering team. This role involves building out the organization's Software-Defined Everything (SDE) platform to enable Physical AI, Edge, and Trusted Environments. The ideal candidate is an experienced engineer who can contribute to an established team, demonstrating proficiency with CI/CD pipelines, AWS cloud environments, and backend services. You will design, develop, deploy, and operate high-availability software products with robust monitoring, alerting, and fault-tolerant capabilities, integrating agentic AI at their core.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop software products that meet user needs and market demands.
• Architect secure, scalable, and high-performance backend applications.
• Build and operate backend services, and implement and manage CI/CD pipelines.
• Work with backend development using languages such as Go, and CDK language such as Typescript.
• Integrate backend services with relational and NoSQL databases.
• Write clean, efficient, and testable code following best practices for performance, maintainability, and security.
• Integrate generative AI tools to accelerate development and enhance product design.
• Communicate design decisions and technical trade-offs to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience building and operating production-grade full-stack applications in cloud environments such as AWS.
• 5+ years of experience with Go, Java, Node.js, or C# development, with at least 2 years of specific experience in Golang.
• 3+ years of experience in distributed architectures using microservices or serverless in AWS, Google, or Azure Cloud.
• 3+ years of experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Experience in CI/CD pipeline setup and maintenance, including deployment in production and automated deployments.
• Experience using generative AI tools to accelerate development, automate coding tasks, and review AI-generated code.
• A background in computer science.
• Bachelor's degree and 3+ years of experience in software engineering, or 5+ years of experience in software engineering in lieu of a degree.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience writing source code for new applications or enhancing code samples for existing applications.
• Experience acquiring client requirements and resolving workflow problems through automation optimization.
• Ability to work with automated testing tools to perform testing and maintenance.
• Master’s degree.
• AWS Certifications, such as Cloud Practitioner, Developer Associate, or Solutions Architect Associate.
