Job summary

OP Engineering is seeking an experienced Commissioning Site Manager for a major hyperscale development. This owner-side role leads commissioning across mechanical, electrical and controls from pre-commissioning through final testing and handover, ensuring safety and quality on site in Austin, TX.

You will liaison with contractors, designers and vendors, drive functional tests, and maintain schedules while solving technical issues to enable energization and handover of critical data-center

Qualifications

• Five+ years of data-center or mission-critical commissioning experience.
• Experience leading hyperscale commissioning programs.
• Strong hands-on mechanical commissioning expertise.
• Working knowledge of electrical and controls integration.
• Experience managing contractors, designers and vendors on site.
• Strong troubleshooting, reporting and stakeholder-management skills.
• Ability to work on site for the duration of the project.
• Experience with ASHRAE or BCxA commissioning guidance and NETA testing standards would be advantageous.

OP Engineering is supporting a rapidly scaling data-center infrastructure business seeking an experienced Commissioning Site Manager for a major hyperscale development.

This is an owner-side position responsible for leading and coordinating commissioning across mechanical, electrical and controls systems from pre-commissioning through final integrated testing and handover.

Responsibilities

• Lead commissioning activities across Levels 1–5
• Act as the owner’s on-site commissioning representative
• Coordinate general contractors, designers, commissioning agents, OEMs and specialist vendors
• Oversee chilled-water, HVAC, electrical, BMS and EPMS commissioning
• Drive pre-functional checks, functional performance testing and integrated systems testing
• Validate flushing, pressure testing, equipment startup and sequences of operation

Candidates should have strong commissioning knowledge across:

• Chillers, cooling towers, dry coolers and pumps
• CRAH/CRAC units, AHUs, heat exchangers and VFDs
• Mechanical controls, BMS and leak-detection systems
• Generators, transformers and MV/LV switchgear
• UPS and battery systems
• ATS, STS, PDUs, busway and RPPs
• PLC controls and EPMS

Required experience

• Five or more years of data-center or mission-critical commissioning experience
• Previous responsibility for hyperscale commissioning programs
• Strong hands-on mechanical commissioning expertise
• Working knowledge of electrical and controls integration
• Experience managing contractors, designers and vendors on site
• Strong troubleshooting, reporting and stakeholder-management skills

Experience with ASHRAE or BCxA commissioning guidance and NETA testing standards would be advantageous.

This is a long-term contract opportunity offering direct involvement in a major, technically complex data-center development.
