Job summary

CyberCoders is seeking a Sr. Commissioning Manager to lead the commissioning program for large-scale hyperscale data center projects from construction through acceptance.

Responsibilities

• Own and manage the end-to-end commissioning program for hyperscale data center projects and develop commissioning plans.
• Lead, mentor and direct commissioning engineers, field technicians and contractors; assign responsibilities.
• Develop and enforce commissioning procedures, test plans (pFHO, FHO, L1L5) and ITPs for electrical, mechanical and control systems.
• Plan and witness major system tests: generator load bank testing, UPS paralleling, STS/ATS transfer testing.
• Coordinate utility interconnect activities and MW interconnect processes with utility providers.
• Oversee BMS/EPMS verification and integration with building systems; confirm alarm strategies.
• Perform risk assessments, readiness reviews and closeout; drive resolution of deficiencies.
• Collaborate with construction management to sequence work and ensure safety and quality compliance.
• Manage commissioning documentation, test reports, punch lists and client deliverables; provide executive updates.
• Support client acceptance testing and post-acceptance monitoring; train operations teams.

Sr. Commissioning Manager - Data Centers

Lead the commissioning program for large-scale hyperscale and mission-critical data center projects. Responsible for planning, directing and executing commissioning activities from construction through acceptance, ensuring systems meet performance requirements, reliability standards and client expectations. Coordinate multidisciplinary teams, contractors and utilities while managing schedules in P6 and delivering safe, timely handovers.

Key Responsibilities

• Own and manage the end-to-end commissioning program for hyperscale and enterprise data center projects, including development and execution of commissioning plans and schedules using P6.
• Lead, mentor and direct commissioning engineers, field technicians and third-party contractors; assign responsibilities and verify deliverables.
• Develop and enforce commissioning procedures, test plans (including pFHO, FHO, L1L5 functional testing), FATs and ITPs for electrical, mechanical and control systems.
• Plan, coordinate and witness major system tests: generator load bank testing, UPS paralleling, STS/ATS transfer testing, switchgear and busduct commissioning, and PDU and MSB verification.
• Coordinate utility and MW interconnect activities, including NEA/H2C processes and utility interface testing.
• Oversee chiller plant sequencing, BMS/EPMS verification and integration with building systems to confirm operational sequences and alarm strategies.
• Perform risk assessments, readiness reviews and pre-commissioning checklists; drive resolution of deficiencies through construction and closeout.
• Collaborate with construction management to sequence work, resolve site issues and ensure safety and quality compliance on mission-critical systems.
• Manage commissioning documentation, test reports, punch lists and client deliverables; prepare executive-level status updates and final commissioning certification.
• Support client acceptance testing, occupancy handover, and post-acceptance monitoring; provide technical guidance and training to operations teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Construction Engineering, or equivalent experience; advanced degree or commissioning certification (CxA) preferred.
• 10+ years of progressive commissioning experience on data center or mission-critical infrastructure projects, with leadership experience on hyperscale programs.
• Demonstrated experience in data center commissioning and construction coordination, including hands-on oversight of electrical and mechanical systems.
• Proven ability to manage complex schedules and resource loading using P6 and to drive on-time commissioning milestones.
• Deep technical knowledge of mission-critical systems: UPS, generators, switchgear, PDU, MSB, busduct and related testing protocols.
• Strong experience with functional and performance testing (L1L5), pFHO and FHO methodologies, generator load bank testing, UPS paralleling and STS/ATS transfer testing.
• Experience with utility and MW interconnects, NEA/H2C processes and working with utility providers and large electrical contractors.
• Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills; comfortable presenting to clients and senior project teams and making data-driven decisions under schedule pressure.
