Job summary

HMSHost in Miami, FL is seeking a Commissary Shift Manager to support the Commissary Manager or Chef and supervise non-management associates on daily operations.

You will assign work, provide on-the-job training, and ensure shifts are covered while focusing on performance, coaching and development in a fast-paced food service environment. This is a non-exempt position reporting to the Commissary Manager or Chef based on local requirements.

Qualifications

• Requires up to 2 years of related experience in food and beverage or related management.
• Demonstrates team management, delegation and issue-resolution skills.
• Ability to speak, read and comprehend instructions and policy documents.

Responsibilities

• Supervises the day-to-day activities of non-management associates.
• Assigns work responsibilities and ensures shifts are covered.
• Conducts on-the-job training for associates, and ensures all associates receive basic skills training.
• Resolves routine questions and problems and refers more complex issues to higher levels.
• Provides recommendations for hiring, firing, advancement or any other status change of associates.
