Job summary

FNF is seeking a motivated Commercial Underwriter to support its Phoenix, Arizona office. You will review, revise, and produce title commitments and final policies for commercial properties, analyze title issues, and mitigate underwriting risk.

You will coordinate with clients and transaction parties, review surveys and organizational documents, and use SoftPro, Data Trace, TitlePoint, and Outlook to manage workflow.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with real estate law and applicable state regulations.
• Strong understanding of title processes for real estate transactions.
• Significant experience producing and revising title commitments for commercial properties.
• Ability to read and plot metes and bounds descriptions.
• Ability to review ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys and organizational documents.
• Proficiency with SoftPro, Data Trace, TitlePoint, and Microsoft Outlook.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
• Excellent communication and organizational abilities.

Responsibilities

• Review, revise, and produce title commitments, pro forma policies, and final title policies for commercial properties in Arizona.
• Review transaction documents, title objection letters, organizational documents, and ALTA/NSPS surveys.
• Analyze legal and title issues and mitigate underwriting risk.
• Act as underwriting point person on commercial transactions, including reviewing title insurance commitments and issuing policies.
• Review organizational documents to determine authorized signers.
• Read and plot metes and bounds legal descriptions.
• Collaborate with colleagues and parties to identify solution-oriented approaches to matters.
• Provide clear, professional direction through verbal and written communication.
• Monitor and prioritize assigned work to maintain productivity and timely service.
