Commercial Relationship Manager

Summary

The Commercial Relationship Manager works as part of a collaborative commercial lending team, in conjunction with senior management, to develop, implement, and execute a defined business plan and market strategy.

Primary Responsibilities
  1. Expand, manage, and optimize a portfolio of commercial clients.
  2. Lead and participate in the acquisition and documentation of loan and deposit transactions.
  3. Coordinate credit applications and credit administration.
  4. Structure and price loan, deposit, and treasury management transactions/relationships.
  5. Present credit requests to senior management and/or the Loan Committee for review and approval.
  6. Manage all aspects of client relationships, including loans, deposits, and other products.
  7. Refer non-loan banking services to specialists in Wealth Management, Residential Mortgages, Treasury Management, and other departments.
  8. Respond to referrals from management and others.
  9. Participate in new business development and acquire new clients.
  10. Interview loan and deposit applicants.
  11. Structure, analyze, and approve new and renewed loans within lending authority.
  12. Close loans and deposit relationships.
  13. Complete documentation and monitor compliance with policies and regulations.
  14. Work with credit to assign risk grades and handle past due loans.
  15. Assist customers with service inquiries related to lending and non-lending issues.
  16. Send financial statements to credit analysts for analysis.
  17. Monitor and evaluate the performance of direct reports and provide training as needed.
  18. Participate in community activities and promote all company products and services.
  19. Ensure adherence to industry laws, regulations, policies, and ethical standards.
  20. Understand and participate in the Bank’s Community Reinvestment Act program.
  21. Perform other duties as assigned.
Education / Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Mathematics, or Statistics with at least 12 semester hours of Accounting.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in lending and relationship management, focusing on credit relationships, deposits, and treasury management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Word.
  • Strong sales and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and be bondable.

Pay depends on knowledge, skills, abilities, experience, and location.
