Job summary

CBRE Group, Inc. in Texas is looking for a Painter/Carpenter to perform preventive maintenance and repair across multiple commercial facilities. This role supports engineering and technical services, focusing on building structure, interior painting, and routine upkeep.

You will execute repairs, prep surfaces, and apply coatings like varnish or primer, under close supervision. Strong safety awareness and basic math, IT basics, and communication skills are essential for daily tasks.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with up to 2 years of related experience.
• Must meet physical requirements including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders and lifting 50 lbs or more.
• Ability to follow basic work routines and standards in the application of work.
• Communication skills to exchange straightforward information.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the general operation, repair, and maintenance of the building’s structure and grounds.
• Perform assigned repairs and emergency preventative maintenance. Complete maintenance repair records as required.
• Perform interior preparation, painting, touch-up, and finishing of areas in need of commercial-level painting.
• Working under close supervision, utilize several trade skills such as patching, painting, and finishing.
• Use necessary tools and equipment to complete duties related to the application of varnish, polyurethane, primer paint, and other specialty coatings.
• Repair and remodel imperfections. This includes masking, preparing, and protecting surfaces to ensure facilities are properly maintained.
• Build, dismantle, and repair structures, walls, roofs, glass, siding, scaffolding or facia.
• Review assigned work orders and estimate time, materials, equipment, and tools to complete the repair.
• Review construction documents such as drawings, sketches, specifications, and maintenance logs.
• Collaborate with employees, end users, and stakeholders concerning work orders, prints, and sketches to understand the structure that needs to be built or repaired.
• Ensure that all tools and equipment are thoroughly cleaned, stored, and maintained for optimum performance and safety.
• Respond quickly to emergency situations, summoning additional assistance as needed.
• Ensure the personal safety and safety of those who are affected by your work.
• Participate in all HSE-related programs, activities, and training as required.
• Report any conditions that could result in an accident or injury to management.
• Use existing procedures to solve straightforward problems while having a limited opportunity to exercise discretion.
• Impact through clearly defined duties, methods, and tasks are described in detail.
• Deliver own output by following defined procedures and processes under close supervision and guidance.
