Job summary

Summit Broadband is seeking a Commercial Network Technician to join the Commercial Operations Team in Central Florida. The role focuses on installation, maintenance and documentation of the IP/MPLS network, with responsibility for customer premises equipment, network devices and service provisioning for commercial accounts.

The position requires strong customer service and technical skills, familiarity with CPE, VoIP, IPTV, CATV practices, and the ability to work on-site and in the field,

Qualifications

• Completion of a college program related to CATV or equivalent experience is essential
• Bachelor’s degree in a technical area (engineering or computer science) preferred
• CCNA or JNCIA certification desirable

Responsibilities

• Maintains telecommunications and network systems including phone systems, network nodes and IPTV where applicable
• Maintenance, design, provisioning and troubleshooting of network topology components
• Splicing coax, CAT5/6 and fiber optics; install and balance distribution lines
• Install, inspect, monitor and test cable transmission and distributions systems
• Serve as level two technical support for Network Engineers and NOC
• Document and read Electronic Network Ticket Management system
• Communicate clearly with business clients
• Support 24/7/365 operations and after-hours outages
