Job summary

PlainsCapital Bank seeks a Portfolio Manager Team Lead to oversee the commercial portfolio management function. You will lead a team of Portfolio Managers, mentor staff, and act as a liaison between commercial credit and lending teams.

You will ensure adherence to regulatory, policy, and service standards while managing a book of complex relationships. Responsibilities include guiding underwriting reviews, risk evaluation, and ensuring accurate documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance or Accounting.
• 7+ years in commercial loan portfolio management or similar.
• Experience mentoring junior staff and leading teams.
• Ability to travel within designated market to develop relationships.
• Strong communication and analytical skills; able to interface with senior management.

Responsibilities

• Lead a portfolio management team, providing guidance and mentorship.
• Coordinate career development and provide timely feedback.
• Serve as liaison with commercial banking teams to prioritize new business activities.
• Review credit presentations for accuracy and risk identification.
• Provide quality control in underwriting before approval by Credit Officers.
• Manage a portfolio of complex relationships and ensure accurate risk rating.
• Consult with Loan Officers on cross-sell opportunities and participate in training.
• Perform other duties as required.
