Job summary

Great Plains Bank seeks a credit professional to develop and manage the loan portfolio and promote the bank’s services. You will evaluate and recommend loan approvals for consumer, commercial, and agricultural loans, while generating referrals and nurturing relationships with new and existing clients.

You will assist with credit analysis, compile loan packages, negotiate loan terms, and ensure timely closing.

Qualifications

• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables.
• Ability to interpret written, oral, diagram, or schedule form instructions.
• Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to present information and respond to questions from employees, customers and the public.
• Ability to calculate basic math figures and amounts; apply algebra and geometry.

Responsibilities

• Develops loan portfolio and promotes bank services to customers.
• Evaluates and recommends loan approvals for consumer, commercial and agricultural loans.
• Generates referrals and builds relationships with new and existing clients.
• Manages branch loan portfolio and assists with credit analysis for new clients.
• Gathers information for loan applications and requests credit reports and references.
• Prepares loan packages and negotiates loan structure and fees with applicants.
• Ensures complete and accurate loan agreements and timely closing and funding.
• Cross-sells other bank products aligned to customer needs.
• Reviews credit and financial information for lending decisions and prepares summaries for officers/committees.
• Analyzes financial statements (historical, budget, projected) and related materials.
• Monitors and updates credit and collateral files; reports issues to loan officers.
• Supports other credit risk management functions such as loan review and monitoring.
