Job summary

Selective Insurance invites current college students to join the Ignite Internship program at our Hartford, CT or Short Hills, NJ offices for an 11‑week, full‑time internship into our Commercial Lines product area. You will explore Workers Compensation, BOP, and Commercial Auto, gaining hands-on experience in a large software development environment.

You’ll work on Agile teams, participate in on‑the‑job assignments, and engage with senior leadership, with a hybrid work arrangement requiring

Qualifications

• Must be a current college student to qualify.
• Demonstrate an interest in learning about the insurance industry.
• Experience with Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint is preferred.
• College credit can be earned depending on your institution’s requirements.

Responsibilities

• Analyze Selective’s current Commercial products.
• Write requirements for future enhancements.
• Perform User Acceptance Testing of completed work.
• Assist product group’s Agile team
