Job summary

CBRE Group, Inc. is seeking a Commercial HVAC Engineer for a large campus in San Jose, CA. The role focuses on maintenance, repair, and installation of building HVAC systems, ensuring reliability and compliance.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting, mentoring others, and working with BMS to optimize performance. The position requires HVAC experience, EPA credentials, and physical capability to handle demanding shifts.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent with 4–5 years in HVAC/maintenance.
• EPA I & II (Universal preferred).
• Able to meet physical requirements and lift 50 lbs+.
• Strong judgment from analyzing multiple information sources.
• Willing to adapt and explore new solutions.
• Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and CMMS.
• Organized with an inquisitive mindset.

Responsibilities

• Install, repair, and maintain HVAC/R systems and related instruments.
• Inspect equipment and ensure compliance with codes and safety.
• Diagnose failures and determine corrective actions.
• Mentor teammates and share knowledge across related functions.
• Lead by example and align with CBRE RISE values.
• Collaborate with teams to support campus operations.
• Work with BMS to monitor, adjust, and troubleshoot building systems.
• Repair refrigeration equipment including 4°C, -20°C, and -80°C units.
