Job summary

Elanden Advisors is partnering with a boutique commercial real estate financing and brokerage firm in Los Angeles to hire a Business Development Officer. The role focuses on originating new commercial financing transactions and developing long-term client relationships.

You will work closely with senior leadership and underwriting through the lifecycle, from initial outreach to closing, managing a dynamic pipeline and coordinating with lenders and third parties as needed.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in commercial, corporate, or business banking with CRE.
• Ability to analyze financial statements including balance sheets, income statements and cash flow statements.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and training.
• California Real Estate Salesperson license preferred or willingness to obtain.
• SBA lending experience preferred.
• Previous credit or financial analysis experience preferred.
• Strong communication, organization, and time-management skills.
• Self-motivated, proactive, detail-oriented, entrepreneurial environment.
• Base salary + commission.

Responsibilities

• Originate new commercial financing opportunities through prospecting, networking, referrals, company-provided leads, and industry events
• Build and maintain relationships with borrowers, lenders, vendors, and other industry partners
• Develop new lending opportunities and strategic client relationships
• Manage and monitor opportunities throughout the pipeline from prospecting through closing
• Coordinate with borrowers and internal team members to ensure required loan documentation is accurate and complete
• Work with lenders, escrow officers, SBA/CDC partners, and other third parties throughout the financing process
• Attend industry conferences, tradeshows, networking events, and roadshows
• Maintain consistent client communication and provide a high level of customer service
