Job summary

Charlotte, NC-based AmLaw 100 law firm seeks a mid-level Business & Commercial Disputes Associate Attorney to handle sophisticated commercial litigation for national and international clients. Hybrid work arrangement with substantial client interaction and courtroom exposure.

Requirements include a JD from a top-tier law school, NC bar admission, 3–5 years of relevant litigation experience, and strong drafting and discovery skills. Excellent analytical and advocacy abilities are essential.

Qualifications

• JD from a top-tier law school with an excellent academic record
• Active Bar Admission in North Carolina, good standing
• 3–5 years of substantive experience in commercial litigation
• Experience managing complex business disputes at a sophisticated law firm
• Skilled in litigating in state and federal courts from inception to resolution
• Experience drafting dispositive and non-dispositive motions
• Capable of managing all phases of discovery including e-discovery coordination
• Restructuring, insolvency, or bankruptcy litigation experience is a plus
• Superior analytical, research, and problem-solving abilities
• Exceptional written and oral advocacy skills

Responsibilities

• Handle substantive work on complex commercial litigation matters in state and federal courts
• Draft and argue dispositive and non-dispositive motions
• Manage key aspects of discovery including e-discovery coordination
• Prepare for and conduct depositions of fact and expert witnesses as experience permits
• Support trial preparation, including witness preparation and exhibit management
• Analyze litigation risks and business implications to develop practical legal solutions
• Communicate directly with clients and in-house counsel
• Collaborate with partners and teams to provide exceptional client service
• Contribute to case strategy throughout all stages of litigation
