Job summary

Big’s Sanitation in Elizabeth, PA is seeking a Commercial Dispatcher to coordinate daily front-load waste collection routes, monitor progress, and ensure timely service. You will work with drivers, operations, and customer service to manage assignments, disruptions, and service changes.

Qualifications

• Previous dispatching, transportation, logistics, or operations experience preferred.
• Waste management, trucking, or commercial collection experience is a plus.
• Proficiency in computer applications, email, and electronic operating systems.
• Ability to learn routing, dispatching, and customer management software.
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and assign daily commercial front load collection routes based on service requirements and driver/equipment availability.
• Communicate route assignments, schedules, and instructions to drivers.
• Monitor route progress and address delays, issues, and service disruptions.
• Adjust routes for emergencies, extra services, and changing needs.
• Maintain dispatch records and update routing systems.
• Escalate operational issues to management as needed.
