Job summary

First Merchants Corporation offers a 12-week paid Summer Internship Program for current college students in the United States. Qualifications

• Be a full-time Bachelor (or higher) degree-seeking student at an accredited college or university.
• Be available to work 40 hours per week from May 17th- August 6th, 2027.
• Be authorized to work in the United States.
• Have demonstrated interest in the industry and/or specific area of interest.
• Possess a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
• Be able and willing to travel periodically throughout the First Merchants footprint, if applicable.

Responsibilities

• The Commercial Intern will learn the roles within commercial banking and the products and services the bank provides commercial customers.
• The intern will gain skills in assessing credit risk, analyzing financial data, portfolio management, and the team-based credit decision process.
• The intern will also learn the commercial banking sales cycle, relationship banking, whole-bank selling techniques, and commercial banking sales management, while gaining hands-on sales experience.
