Job summary

First Merchants Corporation invites motivated college students to join its 12-week, paid Summer Internship Program in Indianapolis. The Commercial Bank team will guide you through day-to-day tasks, credit lending analytics, onboarding, and sales support, with exposure to multiple business lines and leadership interactions.

Participants gain hands-on experience across Commercial Administration, risk and compliance exposure, and strategic initiatives aligned to the bank's 2027 objectives, while

Qualifications

• Be a full-time Bachelor (or higher) degree-seeking student at an accredited college or university.
• Be available to work 40 hours per week May 17th– August 6th, 2027.
• Be authorized to work in the United States.
• Have demonstrated interest in the industry.
• Possess a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
• Be able and willing to travel periodically throughout the First Merchants footprint, if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Support the Commercial Administration team with day-to-day projects and initiatives.
• Gain exposure to credit lending analysis, loan onboarding, and sales enablement.
• Learn commercial banking operations through hands-on tasks aligned to 2027 objectives.
• Participate in training, shadowing, and leadership meetings.
• Engage in a coordinated community service project and intern networking events.
