Job summary

SouthState Bank, N.A. seeks a Commercial Banking Associate to launch a banking career through a structured program. After 6 months of onsite training in Tampa, FL, associates return to their local market with a January 11, 2027 start date.

The role focuses on underwriting, loan processing, portfolio management, and relationship management for business banking clients. High performers may progress to the Commercial Portfolio Analyst role and beyond, with opportunities to work with sales partners

Qualifications

Must have graduated with a Bachelor's degree within the last 2 years or Dec 2026 grad, with a minimum GPA of 3.4.
Previous internship experience, preferably in finance, banking, or related field.
Strong analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with financial modeling or banking software is a plus.

Responsibilities

Underwrite and process loans; support portfolio management and risk assessment.
Assist in building and maintaining client relationships across business banking segments.
Collaborate with sales partners to identify and pursue new business opportunities.
