The SouthState Bank, N.A. Commercial Banking Associate Program is designed for recent graduates with a 3.4 GPA and internship experience.

After six months of onsite training in Tampa, FL, you will return to your local market to begin applying credit, underwriting, and relationship management skills. Starting January 11, 2027, the program offers mentorship, cross-functional exposure, and a path to the Commercial Portfolio Analyst role over 6–18 months, with an onsite work location at 808 Katy

Qualifications

• Must have graduated with a Bachelor's degree within the last 2 years or Dec 2026 grad, with a minimum GPA of 3.4, preferred.
• Previous internship experience, preferably in finance, banking, or a related field.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic, fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with financial modeling or banking software is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Learn and understand how financial spreads work; apply to different tiers.
• Assist in evaluating credit applications by analyzing financial statements and credit reports.
• Prepare preliminary underwriting documents and structure loan proposals.
• Monitor and manage assigned client portfolios; track loan performance and risks.
• Conduct periodic reviews of client accounts to ensure alignment with goals and standards.
• Support loan origination by gathering client documentation and ensuring compliance.
• Collaborate with internal teams to streamline approvals and closings.
• Build relationships with Retail, Small Business Banking, and Commercial clients.
• Identify cross-selling opportunities for treasury services and other products.
• Participate in cross-functional projects and leadership training.
