Job summary

North Star Community Credit Union in Minot, ND seeks a Commercial & Agricultural Credit Specialist to analyze financial information, assess credit risk, and recommend financing solutions across consumer, agricultural, and commercial portfolios.

This in-branch, on-site role partners with internal teams to ensure data-driven decisions, monitor risk, and support local businesses, farmers, and ranchers in achieving their goals through sound lending decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 3+ years of experience in credit analysis, financial services, or related field preferred.
• Strong understanding of financial statements and cash flow analysis.
• Ability to interpret and communicate complex financial data clearly.
• High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial analysis tools.

Responsibilities

• Analyze financial statements, tax returns, and credit reports to assess risk.
• Prepare detailed credit presentations and recommendations for financing requests.
• Evaluate cash flow, debt service coverage, collateral, and overall financial strength.
• Monitor existing relationships and identify emerging risks.

• Ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
• Support portfolio reporting, trend analysis, and overall credit quality reviews.

Position Overview
