Job summary
tarte Cosmetics in New York City is seeking a Commerce Engineering Lead to own hands-on engineering across Shopify Plus, serverless, and integrations. You will collaborate with Product, Merchandising, Marketing, and OMS teams to translate business initiatives into scalable technical solutions and help drive a fast-growing global DTC platform.
You'll write code, guide architectural decisions, evaluate vendor options, and stay ahead of the Shopify Plus roadmap.
Qualifications
- Hands-on experience building and maintaining AWS Lambda functions.
- Proven track record architecting integrations across ERP, OMS, CRM, payments.
- Ability to communicate architecture to technical and non-technical partners.
- Experience mentoring engineers and collaborating in a team.
- Comfortable leading vendor evaluations and defining criteria.
- Flexible, adaptable mindset with changing priorities.
- Solutions-oriented with creative alternatives when needed.
Responsibilities
- Write code for Shopify Plus apps using Liquid, Node.js, and React.
- Own AWS Lambda functions connecting OMS to the commerce stack.
- Review architecture notes and identify risks.
- Collaborate with Marketing, Merchandising, Product to translate needs.
- Evaluate platform changes and new capabilities in Shopify Plus.
- Guide team growth and share technical knowledge.
